Cortaderia or Pampas Grass has surged in popularity over the last few years. Originally popular in the 60's and 70's and then went out of favour, its back and top of the list for interior design, weddings and events. Native to South America it can be an invasive weed and has even been banned in New Zealand. It can grow to 3m in height and its leaves are really rough and can cut the skin. The feathery flower plumes are what everyone wants.
Place the pampas plumes in a loose, as if not thought through, way in your vase. If you have several vases, it is also nice to put two plumes in one vase with a small difference in height and only one plume in the other vase.
