Dried straw flowers or Helichrysum dried flowers are one of the best known dried flowers. They are also called Helichrysum Bracteatum, Everlasting or Strawflowers. The color palette is beautiful from white and pink to yellow, red, orange and salmon.
The seeds of straw flowers are very small, there are about 1400 seeds in one gram. The seeds are matte beige-brown and resemble very small sticks. Strawflower, which we cultivate in the Netherlands, is an annual variety, so sowing in the spring means that you can harvest and dry flowers in the summer of the same year. Straw flowers are often slightly shorter than other dried flowers, take into account a maximum length of 55 to 60 centimeters.
Helichrysums are one of the most famous dried flowers in Europe. They are also called Helichrysum Bracteatum, Everlasting or Strawflowers. They come from the same flower family as the beautiful French sunflowers. The color palette is beautiful from white and pink to yellow, red, orange and salmon. Our Dutch-produced and dried straw flowers combine excellently with, for example, Nigella, Phalaris or Rhodanthe, but they also look fantastic as a solo bouquet in a transparent vase.
