After the release of her debut album "Let Go Or Be Dragged" (2014), the career of AJ (Alexandra Johanna) Plug is going through. In October 2016 she releases her second album "Chew Chew Chew", which again was "in heaven". The career of the singer from Katwijk aan Zee ended up in rapid speed, and the second CD of the tough blonde also reaps jubilant reviews. Music Maker wrote: “She has written all twelve songs on the album itself and they are all top class. Just because she masters various styles in the blues genre. Then it rocks again, then you hear a tearing ballad again. Just a top plate! ”(5 stars). Partly because of all the positive reactions, she even ends up on the cover of the American blues magazine "Blues-E-News", in the good company of, among others, Beth Hart, Susan Tedeschi and Shemekia Copeland who are chosen by the audience as leading ladies in the Blues.
At the beginning of May 2018, she and partner / guitarist Klaas Kuijt end up in Grolloo in an old dilapidated farm. With minimal equipment but with a lot of atmosphere, the acoustic album "Barefoot The GrollooTakes" will be recorded and released in June 2018. Accompanied by a bunch of excellent musicians such as the talented guitarist Guy Smeets, pianist and accordionist Roel Spanjers and rhythm guitarist Klaas Kuijt shows AJ Plug soul, you feel the blues, and you get sucked into her sensitive songs. A fantastic album, recorded in a beautiful ambiance, from which the blues culture from Grolloo drips, with a Katwijk edge ...
